Es geht um den Mann im Hintergrund. Mathias Modica: Gomma im allgemeinen, Munk jetzt im besonderen. Das neue Album “Cloudbuster” featured u.a. Hollywood-Atrice Asia Argento und Matt Safer von The Rapture. Open minded Disco mit Live-Appeal und eigener Note, jenseits stumpfer Rave-Effekthascherei. Kollege Jonas Imbery war diesmal nur als Co-Produzent aktiv, konzentriert sich gerade auf sein eigenes Projekt namens Telonius. Referenzielle Namensgebung und so, die nicht nur orthografisch andeutet, dass beide weiterhin irgendwie ein Team bleiben. Im Video-Interview spricht Mathias über all das und noch viel mehr - z.B. über das Casting für eine Gomma-Girlband.

Arte schreibt treffend: “Er hat zu allem eine Meinung, ist Meister der reduzierten Bühnenshow und klingt immer noch wie ein Typ, der in einen Mülleimer singt.” Zwischen den beiden Videos unten liegen immerhin knapp zwanzig Jahre. Zu sehen sind der erste TV-Auftritt der Stone Roses (”Made of stone” inklusive Stromausfall) sowie die Perfomance von Ian Browns “F.E.A.R.” bei den NME-Awards vor zwei Jahren.

This is Richie Egan better known as Jape. He has done a great record called “Ritual”. It will be released later this summer. A wide range of influences from electronic to pop til folk. A masterpiece, really. In the video he performs the touching ballad “At the heart of all this strangeness” with closed eyes, just his acoustic guitar and washing machines in the background. If your are lovesick this one will definitely break your neck.
